About

Brown, that’s me. As a child, I didn’t want to put on my shoes and would rather seek to discover what was on, and behind, the next mountain. If I wasn’t in the water or removing porcupine spines from the mouth of a dog. As long as I could be outdoors or at least in the company of domesticated nature, I was happy. Since then, circumstances have at times led me far away from nature, but deep down, my interest has not diminished. To the contrary, nature is now not only instinctively compelling, but it is unequivocally calling for help. Help that is just as much self-help to humanity. A humanity that craves a sense of meaning and connection and seeks to satisfy it in shopping malls and fast food and 15 minutes of fame. And while we seek, we distance ourselves from the source. The source of the food we eat, the air we breathe, our shelter from the elments, the whole we are part of and entirely dependent on. In therapeutic gardens they have discovered it, the latest research shows that nature has a stabilising and vitalizing effect on people. The latest research which confirms what nature has been whispering in our ear all along. I want to practice listening, and therefore my favourite sport is still and again: browngoesgreen.
